Your tasks
Random House Publisher Services seeks a Financial Analyst to join its team and report directly to the Business Manager. The role will entail:

� Providing support for divisional business manager as part of the division�s business operations team.
� Responsibility for budget and forecast preparation, monthly closings, sales reporting and analysis, monthly P&Ls and special projects, as needed.
� Finding, analyzing and reporting accurate and timely financial information to management to aid in making business decisions.
� Working with Corporate Finance and divisional business manager to prepare and update annual divisional budget and forecasts. This includes all components of a divisional P&L
� Responsibility for monthly closings, including detailed analysis of sales, KPIs and operating expenses.
� Preparing monthly financial summaries for key managers, including written commentary on the month�s results.
� Assisting business manager and departmental managers in making strategic decisions by providing and interpreting information.
� Working on special projects as needed (for example, sales trend analysis, profitability studies) independently and with business manager.

Our requirements
The idea candidate requires:

� Skill in the use of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial reporting and budgeting systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, etc.)
� Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
� 1-2 years related experience in a detail-oriented environment
� Accounting/finance degree a plus
� Publishing/media experience a plus
