 Requirements: 
Our General Books Group is currently seeking a Senior Production Editor to work on titles in the Harper, HarperWave, HarperBusiness and Amistad imprints!

Responsibilities:
- Supervise (from a production editorial standpoint) the production of complex and/or heavily illustrated books from receipt of edited manuscript through bound book/epubs.
- Using MS Word and Harper's proprietary software, code and update electronic manuscripts; copyedits, proofreads, and routes jacket mechanicals and other materials
- Hire freelance copy editors, proofreaders, and indexers and oversees their work.
- Work with editors, designers, and production managers in anticipating and resolving problems.
- Evaluate and coordinate artwork and/or extensive back-matter materials.
- Collate and check proofs; copyedit and proofread miscellaneous material (i.e., front matter, back matter, indexes) and flap copy, mechanicals, and fujis.
- Manages multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality control and tight production schedules.
- Provide backup for the department as needed.

Requirements:
- Significant prior relevant work experience, 5+ years
- Must have strong computer/MS Word skills
- Solid copyediting and proofreading skills; college-level understanding of and use of the English language; be detailed-oriented, well organized, and able to set priorities under pressure
- Must possess college degree or equivalent work experience
